ARDIEL JIMENEZ CAMPEÓN MUNDIAL DROPKNEE 2011 EN LOS ISA WORLD BODYBOARD CHAMPIONSHIP





















Los campeones mundiales ISA de Drop-Knee, Damas y Junior fueron coronados este sábado. Isabela Souza (BRA), Eduardo Rodríguez (SPA) y Ardiel Jiménez (SPA) son los nuevos campeones mundiales de la ISA

El evento culmina mañana, domingo 4 de diciembre, con la coronación de la división Open y el Equipo Campeón Mundial

Isabela Souza (BRA) en Open Damas, Eduardo Rodríguez (SPA) en Junior y Ardiel Jiménez (SPA) en Drop-Knee ganaron hoy las medallas de oro en el Sportzone ISA World Bodyboard Championship. El evento se está realizando en Galdar, Gran Canaria, España y finalizará mañana con la coronación de la categoría Open y el Equipo Campeón Mundial.

Tras dos días de olas espectaculares en El Frontón, el evento se trasladó para La Guancha en donde las olas quebraron con tres a cuatro pies. Con dos oros en su haber, el Equipo Español logró la punta en el ranking parcial por equipos y se perfila como favorito a ganar el Oro en el día final.

A un día del final del evento, el top 5 por países tiene a:
1. España - 6195 puntos
2. Francia - 5860 puntos
3. Portugal - 5643 puntos
4. Chile - 5583 puntos
5. Japón - 5195 puntos

La primera final de hoy vio a la Campeona Mundial IBA 2010 y favorita del evento, Isabela Sousa (BRA), venciendo sobre Anne Cécile Lacoste (FRA, segunda), Alexandra Rinder (GER, tercera) y Ruth Parra (VEN, cuarta).

La serie más emocionante del día, fue la final de Junior, con el local Eduardo Rodríguez dejando al resto de los finalistas necesitando una combinación de olas tras desplegar un impresionante arsenal de maniobras aéreas. Anass Haddar (MOR) se ubicó segundo, Oliver Rinder (GER), tercero y Matías Díaz (CHI) cuarto.

En Drop-Knee, un excelente tubo le dio al también local Ardiel Jiménez un alto puntaje que le rindió la victoria. El sudafricano Dylan Van Tonder se ubicó segundo, el francés Amaury Lavernhe tercero y el portugués Luis Pereira, cuarto.

La final Open se realizará mañana con todos anticipando lo que será un gran expectáculo. La competencia volverá a El Frontón.

Sobre la International Surfing Association
La International Surfing Association (ISA) es reconocida por el Comité Olímpico Internacional como la organización gobernante del Surfing en el mundo. Isabela Souza (BRA) in Open Women, Eduardo Rodríguez (SPA) in Junior and Ardiel Jiménez (SPA) in Drop-Knee today won the Gold Medals in the 2011 Sportzone ISA World Bodyboard Championship. The event is taking place in Galdar, Gran Canaria, Spain, and will come to an end tomorrow with the crowning of the Open Men and Team Champions.

After two days of amazing waves in El Frontón, the event relocated in La Guancha where the waves broke with contestable 3 to 4 feet surf. With two golds now in its pocket, the local Spanish team made it to the top of the partial ratings and lead to the final day as favorites to win the Team Gold.

With one day to go, the top 5 countries are:

5. Japan - 5195 points

Today's first final saw 2010 IBA World Champion and event favorite, Isabela Sousa (BRA), winning over Anne Cécile Lacoste (FRA, second), Alexandra Rinder (GER, third) and Ruth Parra (VEN, fourth).

The most exciting heat of the day was the Junior final, with local Eduardo Rodríguez leaving the rest of the heat needing a combination of scores after lighting up his heat with different repertoires of aereal moves. Anass Haddar (MOR) placed second, Oliver Rinder (GER), third and Matías Díaz (CHI) fourth.

On the Drop-Knee, a great barrel gave local Ardiel Jiménez an excelent score and the victory. South African Dylan Van Tonder placed second, French Amaury Lavernhe third and Portuguese Luis Pereira, fourth.

The Open Final will be held tomorrow with everyone anticipating a great display. The competition will move back again to El Frontón.

About the International Surfing Association
